Michael A. Davenport, a retired Commander of the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corp (JAGC) and a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas, founded Davenport Law Offices in 1994.
Mr. Davenport forges a legal relationship with his clients, resulting in him providing clients a full range of family, criminal, probate, military and business legal services. To many, Mr. Davenport is "The Family's Lawyer." Clients oftentimes refer him to family and friends when they also need experienced legal assistance. Mr. Davenport is known for his even-tempered approach to assessing a matter and determining the most effective legal strategy. He believes in providing information and wise counsel to help clients to fully understand the gravity of their situation. Mr. Davenport has established a relationship of trust with clients that provides the assurance that he is dedicated to protecting their legal interests.
Mr. Davenport has litigated matters ranging from capital murder to paternity suits. He uses the full range of his experience and alliances to deliver the best legal services available, treating every client with dignity and respect.
Mr. Davenport was graduated from Thurgood Marshall School of Law and admitted to the Texas State Bar in 1984. He is licensed to practice before all Texas State Courts, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Mr. Davenport serves in the community. He is a member of the Champion Forest Baptist Church where he actively serves in the F.A.I.T.H. Evangelism ministry. He serves on the Board of Directors at Care Net Pregnancy Center of Northwest Houston where he also instructs employment-related seminars. Serving as an adjunct professor in the business department in the Houston Community College, Mr.Davenport enriches the lives of others through education and life coaching.
Mr. Davenport has been married to his wife, Lillian, for more than 30 years. They have one son, Stephen, who was graduated from Texas A&M University, College Station.
